In addition to the length, the power wire for marine amp wiring kits needs to be tinned to resist corrosion. Instead of only needing 3' for ground wire, on a boatyou need your ground wire to be the same length as your power wire. Instead, you need to run your ground wires all the way to the negative terminal on your battery. On your boat, you cant quickly and easily find a metal surface for ground.
